the movie is starring a giant sized herbert the pervert lookin nikka. im not surprised by this at all lol
Right. Just didn't grab anyone's attention. The original teaser was like :dahell:
I thought BFG would get the kid audience but I didn't count on it coming out so soon after Finding Dory. The kids are not looking for anything else but Dory right now.
The movie just didn't look all that good. Nobody cared regardless.

I think The BFG's box office was tremendously hurt by the fact Finding Dory is simply the only movie that matters to children this summer. They're gonna want to see Finding Dory, and when their parents ask them a week later if they want to go to the theater, they are all going to shout for Finding Dory again.

meh, somewhat. finding nemo came out 13 years ( :mindblown: ) ago. kids now dont have nostalgia or anything about finding nemo. they werent sitting around waiting for this for years. i think BFG looking weird and uninteresting hurt it more than Finding Dory being Finding Dory

like someone mentioned earlier, atleast with the new ghostbusters people vocally hate it, keeping it in the news. with BFG, nobody even cares enough to mention it, good things or bad

The thing is most kids will have seen Finding Nemo at some point enough to care about it. Following your logic 80s kids wouldn't care about those 20 year old Disney movies like The Jungle Book or The Sword In The Stone because they weren't around when they first came out when we obviously know that's not the case. It's simply a matter of timeless entertainment being timeless.

And while I think The BFG was never really connecting much with audiences beforehand, I definitely think that Finding Dory put the final nail in the coffin.

It will make decent money but I predict Suicide Squad will heavily disappoint and end up being a quasi-flop like BVS.
