I am about to start my first cut. I made some decent gains bulking but I am not sure how many months people usually take for their cuts. I was initially going to start Beg of Feb. Currently 5'10 197/8

Also, has anybody carb cycled during their cut?

1-2 pound a week, take that and figure out when you want to be done. Realistically speaking of course.

I'm going to try to avoid cutting until 2015. I'm gonna cut once I'm in that 300/400/500 club (bench/squats/deads). I'm like, 250/320/400 now. Shouldn't take the whole year as long as I don't get injured. I can afford to miss a summer for some gains. If I can stay at that strength and get down to 170-180 :banderas: nikkas just cut all arbitrarily and fukk up the program. Build the base, even if it takes a few years... then cut once and :blessed:

I don't even know how to cut.

I like beer too much. Also wings and burgers.

Of course, I don't bulk much either. I really just like lifting weights, running and jumping rope.

Maybe I should get more serious about all this ... but I still don't want to cut out beers.

Mid-way through April. Bulk ends at the end of March. 2 weeks at maintenance then cut. By June i'll be looking and feeling great, by July I should be ready to stunt.

If you want to be lean (say 10/12%bf) why would you ever be 21%bf? You never want your body to get too comfortable being 16%+. Ideally, you would start a bulk at 10%bf bulk to 15% which if you're bulking properly will take something like 3/4 months. Then spend 1/3 of that time cutting back down. You'll never be out of shape but you'll eat in a calorie surplus enough to make real gains.

The fastest way to get lean and big is to do one big long bulk and then do one long slow cut. That bulk/cut cycle shyt is for the birds... damn near every natural bodybuilder with size I can think of dirty bulked at least once. It's a necessary evil

I started mine before Thanksgiving so I could train myself to stay on track. Dieting through the holidays was possible so now staying on track is easy. Didn't have a cheat until 2 weeks ago, now I have one meal weekly. The cheat meal makes me feel extremely uncomfortable during digestion.

this.

90% of gym goers dont even need to be talking about "bulking" and "cutting" anyway. shyts really just for experienced lifters with a detailed diet. for whatever reason everyone that goes to the gym nowadays feels like they either need to be on a bulk cycle, or a cut cycle. i heard this dude today, "i'm going to bulk up for the next 4 weeks...then start to cut for summer" like :what: nikka all you are going to do is gain 5lbs then turn around and lose it immediately. you're going to look the exact same as you do now 6 weeks from now.

i feel like people would see their results much quicker if they just focused on trying to gain muscle, or trying to lose fat...and sticking with that program. you'd be surprised on how well your goals will fall in line if you do this. the example i gave above was a friend of mine...hes skinny-fat. thin all over, with a big gut. so he wants to put muscle on his arms and chest...then lose his stomach. i already told him just lift heavy and eat heavy with lots of protein. he would add tons of muscle and his body fat percentage would go down naturally. but nikkas dont wanna listen. his head went :mindblown: as soon as he heard "eat more" and "will lower your body fat percentage".

i suppose im technically on a bulk right now. my goals are strength based, im not as concerned with weight. but they kinda go hand and hand. anyway, i'm going from 190lbs to 220lbs. once i hit 220lbs i'll asses what my overall body composition is like before i decide if i want to cut fat or not. obviously the problem is when i try to cut fat, i inevitably end up cutting muscle as well so thats the dilemma.
