please can someone hook me up a link to FL Studio 8 or any version higher than 8. I can do cartoons for some of your stuff or maybe a mixtape cover.

Also there is this site that gives you dope breakbeats and sounds its called looperman.com

so...you're done mixing and are onto mastering but you're asking for "mixer presets"? :ld:

istope ozone probably has some mastering presets you'd like. otherwise, use a brickwall limiter (like L2), set your ceiling to 0.0db and play with the threshold till you get what you want. you might want to try and throw a compressor on there first and use slower settings to keep it more natural sounding and letting the limiter catch the fast transients.

louder isn't necessarily better, btw.

Never said anything about mastering, try again. :duck:

Thanks Cerebral Labyrinth.

BlackDiBiase I'll hook you up, I do need a cover.

so you mixed things to your liking and want the "finished product/entire finished track" louder...if you're not mastering at that point, what the fukk are you doing then? trolling?

Go away Flopaganda we off that mastering topic and on that mixer preset one. You're dismissed.

okay little buddy, you obviously know what you're doing. so you go ahead and keep struggling to "make the sound louder with a mixer preset" then.

:heh:

Honestly tho, I always thought that FL Studio had low levels by default (relative to the volume on my soundcard). Then again, I havent used it in like 3 years. I definitely know more about sound engineering than I did then!

You can use Fruity Limiter or Fruity Soft Clipper on the master bus.

My personal master bus chain:

  • PLParEQ
  • The Glue
  • PSP Master Comp
  • Waves API-2500
  • Voxengo Elephant (Masters Punch +6 dB)
  • Oxford Inflator (Max Loundess Smooth +3 dB)
  • Voxengo Elephant (Ultra Smooth +6 dB)
  • Oxford Limiter (Gentle master enh)

Get a well balanced mix first before you work on the loudness of your mix.

Go to the mastering board and turn it up the volume........
I already said in the first post that I've done that.

turn the gain up on the compressor and tweak, waaalaaaa
Ok, will do.

Very low in my case and me using earphones doesn't help.

I use the limiter which helps but I'll give that Fruity Soft Clipper a try.
