Same as a lot of these other dudes. When Fabolous Breathe came out, I thought that was that beat was just so raw and gully, fell in love with other Just Blaze production (i think this was around the time NBA Street vol. 2 came out, classic game with dope instrumentals by Just on there)... at that point i started becoming interested in how beats were made, ended up getting some app for my PSP to make beats a couple yeras later, then ended up copping FL & channeling my boredom into creativity

What made me attempt to produce was the fact that I couldn't find anybody willing to find an artist to work with to build their sound with or they were charging outrageous prices without being in demand...

unfortunately I sucked at producing so I went back to finding free beats on Youtube, etc to rap to

Don't Believe the Hype
I, also, was a rapper then a DJ. Then, one day after my birthday I picked up a SP-202:

. I would just loop random dope beats like The Firm's Phone Tap and would take the thing on the bus with me and just listen to the loop - the thing took batteries.

Then, I copped a 4-track cassette mixer - this was in '99 - and started building my vinyl collection. In November 2000 was when everything changed: I went to Sam Ash, got approved for credit (some how) and copped a Triton. The rest, as they say...
