DR Period (the producer) actually spoke about this on Math’s podcast recently. He basically said that licensing that song out is gonna keep him fed forever.

From what I've seen reading on it, all parties who own publishing on the song have to sign off on it before it's used. Then when royalties are paid out (for use in commercials, movies, sporting events etc...) it's split based off whatever percentage of the publishing you own
