What is your go to *Vanity* exercise?

So when I was younger (Chubby & in raging Teen zone) I couldn't even do a single pull-up or chin-up, I used to think that the wide-grip pull-up was the sickest black belt workout there ever was. The first time I tried, I couldn't lift myself up any more than an inch & had to style it out on the PRECOR assistor to get some solid reps out to satisfy the bruised flabby ego so to speak. Fast forward now & many wear & tear years later, I have reached the point where I can do 15 wide grip pull-ups for multiplesets. Consequently, that particular exercise has lost its original magic :yeshrug:

However, my newest obsession is the muthafukkin dragon flag......For the last few weeks, I have been practicing the dragon flag (negatives only, for now). I have reached the point of being able to do 3 sets of 6-8 negatives. I'd like to be able to do 15 full dragon flags (proper form) ASAP.....Of course, my staple routines involve the compound lifts (squats, bench press, deadlift, overhead press, barbell rows, pull ups/chin ups).

The dragon flag is just an accessory challenge that manz are tryna holla at...been watching Old Bruce Lee flicks & damn that chinese nikka had some nex tlevel core strength :wow:

So, yea do any of you Manzzz have (or ever had) a vanity exercise that you use for abit of flexing? If so, what was/is it?

:what:That's when you just do them weighted. How does the GOAT upper body exercise lose its magic? There is no single exercise better for vanity than the pull up either...the v shape >>

Difference of opinion friend! I do chins/pulls weighted from time to time but like I said as a youngster watching all the elder brehs do nothing but pull ups etc I was lead to think that was the GOAT move! Speaking of GOAT exercises I'm inclined to say weighted DIPS over Pulls ups anyway! Weighted DIps (with chains & shyte) is the upper body squat...again coming back full circle this is merely a difference of opinion of course! Go try doing some dragon flags then come talk me me 3 days later & I guarantee your mid section will still be hurting like a muffuka! That shyte is some devilish core exercise breh

I'm going with weighted pull-up...I've seen too many :flabbynsick: people able to do dips.

Matter of fact, deadlifts and ATG squats are head turners...:steviej:

I'm the only person at my regular gym that does weighted pull-ups. I rarely see people do pull-ups with any time of serious competence. Only a handful of dudes consistently get their chin above their hands, extend beyond 80% and keep thir body from swinging. Just up and down baby, tight core.

chest burns? ahhh I see you must be doing them with a slight lean forward position as you dip! try staying upright during the movement & feel the exposive burn run down your tricep/ forearm region breh!
