If you love film, see it. Like @BlackAchilles said, watershed moment and very important movie not just socially and culturally but from a technical standpoint and changed the way people made flicks

Yeah, I noticed nobody explained how it's a watershed moment.

I took a few film classes as an undergrad. This was required watching. It is racist as hell, but it changed cinema forever. The moving camera, the directing, we're all groundbreaking at the time. It pushed movie making forward substantially. If you're a film buff, it's kinda something you gotta watch despite the terrible racism and KKK propaganda.
