Agreed..he was on one though.Read an interview where Everlast talks about them dropping acid all the time when they where younger.Divine introduced Everlast to islam(he took shahadda the first time with him and Bilal Bashir,west coast producer in the late 80's easrly 90's).You should check out Divine's first album,Word Power,a west coast classic imo.

Almost forgot about Dr Octagon(Kool Keith and Automator).shyt was hilarious and leftfield as fukk..i would recommend shrooms or absint with this album..:ahh::lawd:

It depends what you call arty and progressive, I thought Distant Relatives by Nas and Damien was ahead of it's time.
