it depends on your plan for weight progression

increasing weight per workout? 3-5

per week? 5-8

per month? 8+

I'd worry about volume more than reps per set. The latter can fit into any size/strength scheme.

I have always had a problem benching! I can never lift heavy on them.

I go for a weight to hit the 6-10 range. I rarely go over 10. It depends on your goals though!

I prefer dumbbell presses to bench.

I do chest twice a week one day heavy the other day high volume and resistance work with bands. Tuesday I did heavy dumbbell bench and decline so Friday I will do high rep sets decline incline and flat DB. I was going to take a video today but just didn't have it in me.

I always try to get 5 reps on heavy db bench and for volume I aim for 12.

I usually either do 4 sets of 6 or 3 sets of 8. Switch it up with DB or BB every couple of weeks, and sometimes shock my body even more by going heaviest with incline/decline first

I'm just getting back in the gym now. Making that summer push. Worked chest today, seem to be moving up fairly quickly. I'm going for size. But I'm thinking maybe I can do a low rep high weight set first and life regular 10 rep sets after. Anyone try this? Thoughts?

i do a bench press pyramid workout

•1x3 - 90 percent of max
•1x6 - 80 percent of max
•1x8 - 70 percent of max
•1x6 - 80 percent of max
•1x3 - 90 percent of max

i do slightly higher reps in my pyramid..it works for me as im trying to not to lose too much strength due to the IF and dieting ive been on

You think IF contributes to strength loss?

I just go for strength nowadays so I'll do 205-225lbs(Which is heavy for me) about 7-10 reps.... anything lower than that I shoot for 12-15 reps...
