Sign O The Times. Greatest double album of all time. Not only is it a collection of hits it also has some pretty damn experiment tracks that are actually great.

No love for Around the World in a Day? It's got two of my favorite prince tracks on there "raspberry beret" and "pop life"
was his last GOAT album
For me it's 1999 and Sign o the times. But I would say sign o the times probably edges it out for me though. I'm surprised diamonds and Pearls album ain't in the category. Gett off and Insatiable are classics.
Sign o the Times just has so many different sounds and moods. one of those albums that you can always listen to something off

So who dropped $160 on the new 8 disc sign o the times remaster? I would have but I'm broke right now

but seriously I would have to say 1999 then Purple Rain...he started moving away from funk on Purple Rain and had pretty much abandoned it by Sign O the times
Breh Prince actually went back to funk with SOTT..by the close of the 80s he incorporated more funk,jazz styles to his music. Someone in an interview said he was getting flack from the NAACP for selling out so he made it a point to have more black people around.
Having all the white faces around the time he crossed over was calculated. Dez leaving was a blessing in disguise as it allowed him to bring in a white female guitarist which def helped his image in white america.
