Monopoly. I don't know of a board game that's as universally played and loved. It became more fun as I got older/more wiser too.

I'm definitely not a game enthusiast. But I haven't met someone yet that openly shyts on Monopoly, let alone for lack of skill.
But I could see where that comes from if it's being compared to more abstractly strategic games.

but if you not going in with a strategy of what to buy and what not to buy
when to build hotels and shyt vs how much money you currently have
when and what to trade......
