What is the first Horror movie that scared you

I can't remember the first horror movie that scared me but the poltergeist and Candyman scared the mess outta me. I'm scared to watch Candyman till this day.. I find humor in the poltergeist-- maybe not humor.. I get mad.

Horror movies nowadays don't have memorable scores. I guarantee I could play 5 seconds of "The Shining", "Halloween", "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "Hellraiser", "The Omen", "The Exorcist", "Friday The 13th", etc. and people would instantly know what it is.
