I'm confused here. What type of email did they send you? Usually it's a nerd who traced your IP and is trying to get you to pay money.

I used to get those emails all the time about being fined but never paid lol. It's not real firms, man. I think some random nerd got you lol.

nono it was official, they contacted me through regular mail.

law firms keep a guy who basically just copies the ips, then they send the order to court, judge clears it then they contact the isp who gives out your personal info, and then you are fukked. i dont know if the laws are any different in the us though

Always
I hustle too hard. I don't value money. I made more than I should have at a young age, my own way, and I lost my mind. I was spending people's rent on flowers, drugs, and turning up with the team. I'm glad I went through that phase. I see grown ass men twice my age trying to live that life. It's corny.

Upside is I know how to generate money legally without a job. I could never see myself having a job my whole life. I view money as something to generate not to save. I'm always seeing what's up with some money. I don't do anything for free. Everything I do generates money for me. I despise debt and I do not believe in it. In almost thirty years of life I've only generated just under 3 grand debt. I own everything I have. I have three bills. Rent, insurance, and at&t. I saved three hundred dollars this pay cycle. That's a big deal to me. Once I learn to save money combined with my ability to generate it, it's fukking over.

Im not making anywhere near that. You think I should call them back and see what they can do for me?
yes, something is wrong. oh wait, are these private loans ... this isn't some income based payment with a private loan company right? which company is managing the loan (even if it's a govt loan a private company like great lakes might manage it)? i helped my cousin out with a PAYE 3 years ago and that's capped at 10% of discretionary income for his federal direct subsidized and subsidized loans. he had about $40k and makes about $30k a year in florida and his payments are around $45 a month. his tax filing status is single, but he has a kid that lives with the mother and since he does cover bills like tuition, etc (can't claim them tax time since the child doesn't live with him, but for income based payment purposes he can list his family size as 2).

i don't have any student loans, but from my experience with helping him out, i don't understand how current 20 somethings are struggling with them with the new changes obama made for people getting loans after 2007 (or 8?). it's tied to 10% of your discretionary income.

When was this? Everyone was getting approved for a mortgage before the market crashed. Yu might have dodged a bullet

way before the bankster's liar loan scam that almost crashed the globe. back then you had to show legit income coming in, have a solid credit score, and some net worth to show.

How did you end up paying the fine? Did you physically meet these lawyers or go to an actual courtroom?

I started working my first real job at 22 making less than 40k. At 23 I bought a 2-bedroom condo with my brother and we had a couple of friends from school with live there and pay rent. I slept on the couch for 2 years but only paid $300 a month and at the end of that 2 years I was closer to 70k. That saved a lot of money I could put into other things. Then I cashed that property out and rented for a while. Now I have my own place and make 6 figures.

I still try to find shyt to invest in so I can eventually not need a 9-to-5. But my 9-to-5 is pretty cushy still.

how old are you now fam?

Yikes:huhldup:

I went thru $180K from a trust within 3 years starting when my mom died (I was 19). No job, smoking weed 24/7, buying whatever I wanted, it was great....

Then reality drop kicked me in the fukking face when that money ran out:bryan:

Im like about $15K in debt now, just starting a sales job to help with that but I don't think I'll be making enough money yet to pay next months bills :to:. Got a boo & 3 year old girl to provide for on top of my dog and I ain't EVER had this kinda pressure in my life. I went from living with my mom, to her dying, and living nice, to swiftly going broke & struggling with my own lil family. Luckily I had great credit to hold me off for the time being but it's getting lower.
My credit score was like 760 & now it's 644:noah:

If I could go back I would've been a little more conservative with the impulse buys & maybe should've found a nice lil part time gig or something. Definitely shoulda been more on top of my month-to-month spending & monitored my budgeting. My whole goal was to move across the country & be a rapper (cliche, I know) & start building a buzz with my then-plentiful time & resources, but I didn't even finish my mixtape how I wanted before running out of money :snoop:. I know I've got talent, charisma and blah blah blah but ultimately, the game ain't going nowhere so I just gotta hustle up and get this money to put myself Ina better position. Silver lining is that at least I'll resonate with the people more. That struggle-comeback story is a lot more appealing to most than some trust fund kid tryna "reach the people" I guess:manny:

Wish me luck brehs I went from buying halve ounces every couple weeks to scraping up change for a couple grams to split with my girl on 420:sadcam:

That's a real sad story. Hopefully you bounce back.

You don't even need cable, internet connection is all you need for entertainment.
What do you mean you see money as something to generate and not save?
