For certain women, the appeal ironically comes from the fact that the men are powerless and are constantly in need of affection and attention more than the average man.

Think about it. Incarcerated men can't do shyt outside of prison and aren't able to actually have contact with their female admirers. Women can write love letters to them or thirst for them and not have to worry about dealing with them in their everyday lives.

The exclusivity and lack of having to actually deal with those men outside of random letters and phone calls is part of the appeal. These women can play out their fantasies with the said men without having to deal with the consequences of actually being with them.

They either grew up with no father and lack of healthy love, or a wack criminal built father or a weak pushover father.

Then they like to seek thrills, movers and shakers, risk taking ass nikkas where they feel like at any moment they can get smacked or die like on a rollercoaster or skydiving

The same thing that nikkas love about them
In a nutshell, my comment can apply to rap fans too.

Many rap fans love to root for the "underdogs" in jail and post "Free *insert rapper*" but, as soon as they get out, the hype dies down and their albums go triple plastic.

Boosie even called this out years ago on DJ Vlad.

That's how it is with certain women and men in jail. The novelty of showing affection to a man who's trapped behind bars is better than actually dealing with them in person.

Right. Having to do the work of being in a healthy relationship is not what many ACTUALLY want. In their eyes If the man is incarcerated she doesn't have to worry about him cheating with other women, she has power via money and commissary and if/when released control in the home that is hers and the purse strings.
