What I got so far is that protesters want the end of SARS, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which is supposedly a corrupt unit of the Nigerian Police.

I assume it’s way more complicated than that, but i believe it has to deal with oppressed ethnic groups in the area

They have killed people and stolen from people with little to no reprocussions. Its one of the many greivances the people have had against the government. Recently celebrities have been speaking out against the violence, manily Wizkid. Because of their influence the protests have started. Most nigerians are hungry and disenfranchised so this can get ugly fast. Most young nigerians have no memory of war, so i expect this to get violent fast.

Guns are banned in nigeria so it will be unfortunately one sided battle as the police are heavily armed.

Pray for the shythole that is nigeria as like it or not its the center of blackness globally.

There are about 1.2 billion people in Africa alone. Nigeria's population is not even 200 million people. So 1 in 4 black people in Africa are not even from Nigeria.

Second of all I sure hope you are not basing that upon those sample sets that those DNA companies like 23andme and AncestryDNA are peddling, because those companies don't even have 1,700 samples between them for all of West Africa (23andme has about 717 samples from West Africa and AncestryDNA had around 1,000 the last time I looked). It is clear that those companies either don't test or test very little in places like Burkina Faso, Mali, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Liberia, etc. Nigeria and Ghana are their defaults, which is where they get most of their samples (23andme got 279 samples from Nigeria and 280 samples from Ghana/Liberia/Sierra Leone). So those tests are clearly flawed and inaccurate and if you change the confidence level on their testing from 50% to 90% then you can clearly see how inaccurate they are. So those test results are not literal for countries, even though those companies mislead people and say that those tests are country specific. Those tests are at best tests for regions, but even then they are flawed. In contrast 23andme has over 6,300 samples for Europe. There are 1,011 for England alone, which is more than they have for the entirety of West Africa which has a population of over 400 million people.
