There was an episode of the Cosby show where Bill Cosby was talking about losing his brother growing up. I thought that would be the worst thing that could ever happen, and I didn't even like my brother until we got older.

Edit: I guess that's not irrational :manny:

As a kid, we had a POS car that kept breaking down randomly. Whenever it did break down, I would be afraid we would get rear-ended. I would always look out the rear window and see the other drivers all "🤬" as my parents would try multiple times to get the car started.

The KKK:mjlol:

My mom gave me this big book of Black American History and they started from Slavery in Africa up to the 90s

I was little child learning about how white people were allowed to do all these evil things to black Americans. I was low key shook to visit my family South of the border because I thought the KKK would get me.

It wasn't until I watched that episode of Jerry Springer, I realized how goofy they were:russ:

I love how you're all scared of actually things little kids should be afraid of lol

As a young child, I was scared about death being oblivion. No afterlife, not even a Hell. I was worried death meant I would be in continuous nothingness from then on not understanding that oblivion meant a state of being unaware of anything. So I would not even know I am dead, if oblivion takes me.

As a kid they use to send home flyers like "There is a man in a van looking to kidnap kids on way home from school". Back in Jersey being kidnap was worst fear as a kid.

We used to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, and they did a KKK episode. They almost lynched Robert E, and cut off his wife’s hair. That scared the hell out of me. I almost didn’t want to go to Disney World on the church trip, because I thought the klan was going to stop the bus full of black people in 1993, and kill us.
