True. Kurt's main influence was 70s/80s punk. I guess "started" the trend was a bad choice of words but he definitely helped popularize it on a mainstream level. My point is that a lot of young people in hip hop find Kurt cool and get fashion inspiration from him and fashion is absolutrly an element of hip hop. I doubt that they're in the crib poppin xans to In Utero but to say he had no influence whatsoever is false.

I think he had a sigificant impact on the past 10 years of Hip Hop.

Lil Wayne's choice to go into a rock sound influenced the sound of the new modern
Hip Hop

Ex.Lil Wayne Lil Wayne ft Kevin Roudof Let it Rock

. Xxxencion,Trippie Red, Chief Keef,Vic Mensa, etc.

Those guys aren't being influenced by Rakim or Nas or Jay.

I think you would have to be legit retarded not to see the influence.

how the would you say they're doing this because of cobain tho? he's not the only depressed, suicidal, druggie rock star....and them young boys got that steeze from wayne and a generic view of rock, there is nothing that can concretely link what they're doing to cobain.

None and this is coming from a person who really likes Nirvana music

In the 90's it was all hip hop and the only other thing about 90's music that people remember are Kurt Cobain and Nirvana

His suicide is the 90's cac version of Tupac and biggie getting killed

He's influenced these new Alt-Rock guys who call themselves "Rappers" but there not

Come as you are is still my shyt tho

this is a lie...grunge, punk, rock, alternative rock, and r&b (and late 90's bubblegum/boy band/princess pop) were all running shyt. alternative/punk/grunge was my third most listened to genre growing up, after r&b and hip hop
