Props on this. I talk about people like yourself. Young Whites who grew up in a different world. But you have to understand Racism is a Sickness and Mental Illness in the White community that has been going on for centuries. Trayvon is just another example in a long list of situations where black life is deemed worthless by the greater society. I have plenty of White Friends who I don't feel are racist but they tell me all the time the Racist things they've heard from parents and friend that are white. One of my best friends is mixed with White and Black and he tells me all the time from the White side of his family how racist the things they say. The scariest thing about Trayvon is the Media and Courts did everything and anything to say it wasn't about Race when that's the case. The bottom line is Whites fought with Blacks during the civil rights movement. As long as you are marching with us you can be apart of the Revolution. The point is as a White Male you have to make a choice. Is The White Supremacy State of mind going to be passed down to your kids? Or are you going to change the tide and teach them to treat everyone fairly and not stereotype them.
Well lets get one thing clear, i grew up listening to hip hop, I recited lyrics and never filtered myself...(but I was dumb and young, 15 something years ago) so yeah, in turn I am GUILTY of that, but I also think hip hop, or my generation that grew up on hip hop, that helped knock down racial barriers and stuff. I rent in a community, that can be considered...ghetto I guess...same town LL Cool J was originally born on Long Island. But when I walk down the block, I don't have the same apprehensions as someone who comes from an all white community would have....
I think people smell fear, regardless of skin color, so if you act shook, and you don't walk with confidence, yeah....people are going to test you and you are going to be looked at as a victim. Motherfukkers are broke and starved, all races and colors, we are in a sh*tty time right now, so I can't exactly fault someone....

When its not....its like....use common sense...no one is going to hire someone that was never given a chance before? How they are going to prove themselves if the system never gave them the chance to begin with...
I'm going off topic....regardless....end of the day, Florida's laws are for cowards, and that shyt needs to change.

See at the same time, I don't think sides should be picked by race, but I remember sometime last week, I was arguing with this young black female on facebook, that was defending Zimmerman, calling trayvon a 'punk thug' and was calling Zimmerman "Zimm" which just got under my nerves and made me be like "WTF" so at THAT same time....I'm sitting there like "why ain't she sticking up for her people, doesn't she realize like whats going on in this country"
but then eventually, I just realized (she was in several other posts) it was probably just some white dude with a picture of a young black girl as the profile picture, to like...you know....stir the shyt

Props breh. I love our differences and don't need whites and blacks to see eye to eye about everything, but it's fukking scary how people are quick to shrug off or even cheer for a BOY getting merked. Not even on some, "well, the evidence wasn't strong enough, so this whole situation is unfortunate" shyt, too many people are using that "thug", "what was he doing out there that late?", "Zimmerman was probably scared by his aggression" bullshyt, which is the same tactic that's been going on for years. This young savage HAD to have been the problem in this situation. There's no explanation.
All of this stems from a superiority complex that too many whites still have, and that's why no one is seeing eye to eye on this. You can't teach somebody to not think they're better than you. Especially when they don't consciously acknowledge that they feel it.
But I say all that to say, don't take the black anger you hear personally, we're tired of getting knocked in the head just for living our lives. Not on some civil rights era fukkery, but more like living the life of the only black kid on the traveling baseball squad. You live amongst these white dudes you think are your boys. You sleep over their house and they act like they love you, but when some serious shyt goes down or when they're able to speak freely the ****** jokes come, or they still keep you at arms length as the black kid instead of riding with you.
I don't need anybody's reparations or to pat me on my head and tell me it's OK to be black, but it's a frustrating cycle. Because when you speak on real shyt you're whining or playing the race card.
Problem is the divide is already there so you HAVE to pick a side. If you go through your life pretending that the equalities don't exist you have picked a side, because even though you don't actively try to perpetuate the inequality, you are benefiting from it.
I will say that the divide is more along the line of social status than race these days, but any way you cut it minorities always get the least opportunities and the most obsticles to overcome.
i don't discuss problems with dudes....especially as a kid dudes in general are a$$holes to each other. Being 27, If it ain't bout drinking, video games, or sports related my black ass don't even talk to dudes.
now if you said white women wasn't being the shoulder you need fair enough....but don't expect white dudes or any dude not ya daddy or granddaddy to be a shoulder in situations.
