He out there on some nonsense:stopitslime:. Nah nikka these cats don't need to put the 'team' above themselves. The 'team' will cut them and rip up their contracts the moment they feel like it. These dudes are independent contractors and don't need to kiss no coach's butt:francis:

Been is outta touch :mjlol:

I like that word. "Independent contractors". This is basically true. And this is the way every Union worker should think.

thats what these Merican's dont understand about football. they always evoke honor, and loyalty and all of that other shyt on one side, but on the other side they can sign you for a 6 year deal and cut you in year 2 if they feel like. All of that honor and loyalty then turns into "its just business" :manny:

You would think Herm would know that since he was a player, but he been a coach so long, he probably sides with mgt. Coaches themselves have guaranteed contracts....

True. But Herm isn't talking about money or contracts in what he said. He was speaking about the AFTER/DURING the time you are under contract you should be thinking about the team. Which I kinda agree with in a sense. I love when Deion talks about some dudes maybe running away from making certain hits "That's a business decision" as he likes to say it.

One thing Herm needs to understand is this ain't no high school football all one team shyt. You out there for yourself for the most part. It's a business.

Good grief, Herm is corny and stupid as fukk.

Herm is just old. He is not corny and has talked about himself growing up in the days of the civil rights movement. I fukks with him heavy. I see where he is coming from(not that I agree). He's just a old school type dude that truly believes in that integrity shyt.

I have integrity but as a Union Electrician I try my hardest to get over on the company because at the end of the day even though I believe I'm paid pretty well. I know they are making millions getting over on me. :manny:

I followed - unfortunately - his entire tenure with the Jets. He's corny as fukk.

Of course you should be thinking about the team. BUT if the team is messing with your career and your money because they aren't utilizing you properly, that's a problem. This is these guys' livelihoods. A guy could get severely underpaid for an entire contract because he was underutilized or not utilized properly by a coach, and if someone feels like that's the case, I give him all the credit in the world for speaking up. Like shyt, if I'm Brandon Boykin right now watching Antwon Blake get abused every play, knowing my contract runs out at the end of the season, I'd def. be saying something. This season, Boykin could be losing millions in the future because Tomlin refused to play him all year. Luckily he got in this past week and should stay in for the rest of the season. And he's acted like a mature professional the whole time, but I wouldn't have blamed him if he looked out for his career, his money, and his family and spoke up about being benched
