He made one of the most unlikely come backs in American sports/entertainment history. He went from being one of the most dynamic and loved athletes to one of the most despised (perhaps THEE most despised) athletes in American history, transitioned from being known as a savage with a rape charge who bit Holyfield's ear to now being a lovable teddy bear type getting paid to do comedy.
Is he making a fool of himself? Absolutely, but fukk it just about every comedian and actor/actress in the world does. His turnaround should be celebrated not mocked.
He's making more money than 95% of the world to act a fool on stage and on screen. His other options would've been slowly falling into squalor and despair, or swallowing his pride to go work a bullshyt job making pennies compared to what his true earning potential is and what it once was.
Anyone looking down on Tyson needs to break free from the mentality that says someone who was once a street dude/savage needs to always be a savage or they sold out and are shucking and jiving for the camera. Straight up, salute to Tyson for coming back from what seemed like the point of no return and becoming an American staple again, beloved again but for being an entirely different person.
completely different discussion for some another thread... but like the late great Patrice O'Neal said/talked about, why is it that white comedians (entertainers in general really) like *insert random old/washed up comedians (Steve Martin, Jim Carrey, etc. etc.)* can act like complete fools on TV but don't have to answer to an entire race...
