To me when Cena jumped ship to Raw, that's when it started going down.

Batista chasing Hunter for the title is still the best build up and feud they've done in a long, long time. I've given HHH a pass for a long time because of it.

Once he won the belt, and Cena started his "Y2-cheap" bullshyt with Jericho, the slippery slope started... and then accelerated greatly around 2008 or so.

Ruthless aggression, hell Ruthless Aggression is arguably an even better era than the Attitude era. So much in ring talent back then.

True but the IWC would rather take the focus off of Heyman/SD! six era and bash what was going on with RAW (i.e. Evolution running shyt).

Fat acne faced idiots like to complain. Evolution wasn't even that bad. It was the Horsemen North.

I think people just hated on it cause of Haitch but :manny:

Ruthless Aggression didn't last nearly long enough or have enough big moments to be comparable to Attitude Era imo.

Seems like everyone agrees on 03'. But I don't think we can call "The Ruthless Agression" perod and era when it really on lasted about a year and a half (summer 02'-03') it was really a transitional period that ended up being better than i think WWE originally thought. Also, when i think of "Ruthless Agression" period, i think only of Smackdown during that time and not Raw :yeshrug:

The real question is what was the best year post 2005?

I think the last solid year was '08 and that's in terms of overall booking. This year, for example, has had a lot of strong matches.. but the storytelling is at an all-time low and it's in part due to the PG rating.

WWE doesn't treat the PG rating like it's PG. They treat it like it's G. There's a difference. WWF in the early 90's was kid friendly but they still had real shyt pop off like Jake doing vile things to Macho/Liz.

This G rated shyt has to go. The only time they have even remotely gotten away from it is when guys like Rock or Lesnar show up because they have a lot more creative control.

Vince needs to get the fukk out of the way. I think Haitch would be a vast improvement because while he will probably still push his favorites.. at least we'll get back to a more old school mentality like we've seen with the tag teams and longer title reigns. He'll probably put blood back in there also... and maybe some more adult oriented shyt.

Strange how Haitch is our only hope :dwillhuh:

When Evolution was around and HHH had the belt all the time

Loved that period

Casual fans consider ruthless aggression as the attitude era still because of storyline content similarities. ruthless aggression was clearly a better product (talent wise) than attitude era. Im sorry but seeing mideon and viscera and the oddities wasn't exactly entertaining. You just knew some ill shyt was gonna pop off at the top of the hour..WAR ZONE

02-03 was better than 00-01 imo. In ring-wise it was maybe their best product ever, SD was GOAT and Raw was pretty good too.

That said, it still didn't live up to 98-99 Raw in the fan's eyes at the time, because they didn't really know how to push the envelope further successfully, and despite the in-ring product being so good, the angles didn't have that same "can't miss" aspect to them like Austin coming in on a beer truck in 99 or Foley getting thrown off the cage.

They've had good spots every now and then, the last year as a whole where I watched most of the shows and cared about the product consistently was 08. Ever since it's been a good WM buildup and one other hot angle a year.

Attitude is overrated. It gave us two of the biggest stars of all-time but the majority of story-lines & matches were shyt. They had an awful roster of wrestlers outside of a few supernovas like Rock & Austin. Virtually none of that stuff holds up well today, IMO, and I didn't even like most of it back then.

My peace offering to the Attitude-era fans I just pissed off:

I agree, if the WWE put out a product similar to the Attitude Era now it would get killed by the IWC. The frequent title changes, the outlandish storylines, and the guys getting pushed regardless of their in ring talent (or lack thereof) are just some of the things that would have people catching strokes behind their computer screens.
