A boss don't know how to be anything but a boss. Slim never wanted to be anything but a soldier, they would've made it work somehow.

He was caught in a fukkin house full of weapons while being on parole.

Avon will be an old man when he gets out...

Hm, Wiki says:

"At the montage at the end of season three, Barksdale sits at the defense table at a court room with all those apprehended during the bust sitting behind him. The shot has no dialog, so it is unclear just how long Barksdale would be in prison, but it can not be less than five years, and it is implied that he received an additional 25 years for conspiracy to commit murder and weapons charges."

I always thought that scene (with Marlo in the courtroom) felt like he got a very long sentence :manny:

Some of you need to go back and rewatch. There is no way a Slim vs Avon battles pops off. Slim was the ultimate soldier and continually abiding by the rules of the game. Marlo tried to place him in leadership positions at least a couple of times and Slim scoff at it. Dude didn't want to lead, only wanted to be a soldier. If Avon came back he would fall right back in line as the head soldier on Avons team. Only reason he was even fukking with Joe is because Avon was locked up, and Stringer was killed this dismantling the Barksdale team.

Yea but three years of being the boss would likely change him. Nobody's gonna go from being the boss to just stepping aside after doing it that long.

Michael Corleone never wanted to be a boss either :manny:

If Slim really doesn't want to be a boss then he won't be a boss during those three years and someone else would step up....and whoever that is ain't stepping aside for Avon.

Nah slim never wanted to be boss (at least he never showed it). But I'm saying if he was forced into being boss, and he did it for three years he wouldn't just step aside.

That's why I brought up Michael. He never wanted to be boss, or even in the family business, but when circumstances forced him into being boss (them trying to kill his father, killing his brother), and after he got his revenge he wasn't looking for a way out, he was the boss.

Where does 3 years of being a boss come from? There was no indication such a thing was going to happen. Based on what he has done in the past he'd just become muscle for someone else in the co-op.

My bad I mis read your post. I don't know that he really becomes a boss, I was just responding to the scenario that he did become boss.

This thread. I'm just saying if he did step up, he ain't stepping down for Avon, and if he didn't, whoever did ain't stepping down for Avon.

This thread reminds me of how poorly they ended this magnificent series. Shoulda spent less time on the terrible news plotline and more time properly finishing the series. :snoop:

I agree with you about the news plot. That was trash. But I need to disagree with you on the rest of it being ended poorly. They brilliantly showed that the system just keeps on chugging forward and does not give one fukk about the people it blesses or destroys (the people we came to love). Drug game keeps on moving without Avon and Marlo, junkie game is doing just fine without Bubs, there is always another corrupt a$$hole to become mayor. Giving us any sense of closure or change (outside of the specific characters we followed) would have defeated the purpose of the show.

Agreed. I'm talking about the specific characters. Especially Marlo. I took that as Marlo returned to the game and got killed...But then I came on the internet and the interpretations are all over the place :mindblown:

Yeah he probably gets killed. Best case scenario he has another year long run and he's dead or in jail.

If we're keeping it realistic he'd probably get locked up again on a bullshyt weapons charge.

or violates probation on some technicality and gets sent right back to prison.

He used to be anonymous in season 1 but now he's in the system.

Police would be waiting for him to mess up. Even being seen with other criminals or in certain neighborhoods is likely to get you jailed at that point.
