This is a huge reach. Both of them are considered two of the most beautiful women. Both of them are among the biggest stars on the planet. It has nothing to do with who has more "traditional African features" and more to do with the music they make. Nothing about Beyonce is racially ambiguous. If that's the case, how have both of them managed to sell more than Alicia Keys in recent years?

unlike the color warriors on the coli, i don't nit pick black people to death because of their shade. beyonce looks like a typical light skin chick to me...nothing makes you think "white features" other than her wearing blonde hair. when her hair is darker, she looks like a run of the mill african american - who are a very mixed up people. yea, her being that color makes her appeal worldwide since most of the world is caramel/brown (various african nations, asian countries, latinos, middle eastern/north african), but regardless of skin tone, black females are not standard of beauty, light or dark, i salute both of them for being at the forefront.Even then, both are light skinned blk women... light skin is more acceptable because in a white society, lighter is better than darker.....

Alicia Keys damaged her image by being a home wrecker, and by putting out shytty music. Rihanna has been consistent with her catchy music. Loud, you can listen to from beginning to end, and every song is great. Beyonce has been building her empire for years. Her stage presence is what carries her, otherwise lackluster, music.
