What happened to heated rivals becoming forced tag team partners?!

The rivals turned tag-team is a storyline that they overused in the mid to late 00's with Cena/tistia, Cena/HBK, and MVP/ Matt Hardy. I only like the storyline when its used to establish a real tag-team like The Bar or Even 2-Man Power Trip.
MVP/Matt was great though
Agreed with the rest...hate when they further the championship fued with the tag belts
