I hate getting off of 85 hitting 58 going through Emporia, Franklin and etc on my way back to home. Cops always looking to pull MF's over. BTW did they close the paper mill?

Yep. Sadly, they did. Pretty much my entire family worked for Union Camp/International Paper at one point.

So many childhood memories.

I still hate that drive down 58. I live in GA now so whenever I go home to visit that last 45 minutes of a 6 hour drive feels like torture. :russ:

Everywhere...You never there.
Virginia Beach is one of the more populous areas in the south that NO ONE hardly talks about... over 500k and part of metro area of nearly 1.7 million and it's all crickets about it being a destination both regionally and nationally.

So much more could be done in Va. Beach... :smh:

Gotta diversify up there...

And VA still has that aircraft speed enforcement :mindblown:

NOVA isn't really Virginia either...it is, but it isn't... NOVA is whole nother world. I know people in NOVA that have NEVER been anywhere south of its boundaries. :mindblown:

but VA is kinda non descript ... outside of NOVA ... kinda weird for a state that's damn near top 10 most populous.

Gonna neg so many people in this thread :whew:

Virginia really could be sooooooooo much more attractive as a state... the colonial history, the varied geography... the beach... it's really a beautiful state.

I actually thought Richmond might have next as a major metro, but I was up there recently and I just don't see it. the optics just look bad, too. A lot of potential there tho.

Still weird tha only NOVA is viewed nationally as a destination... and the beach on a lower level of course, although I still say NC beaches and Myrtle in SC and Florida beaches get more love nationally.

But in VA, having those two worlds meet... Rustic and busybody DC spilling over, VA should be hotter.

But again, Va. Beach is dropping the ball big time.

I couldn't see myself living anywhere but the 757, Nova or Richmond, VA. I lived in the 757 for 6 years and that area could have been better than what it was. The rest of VA is country af.

The va state troopers are the worse, anything over 80 mph is reckless driving.

nikkas needa calm down talking about VA
True...its aight. Depending on what area u in. Im in the 757 (Norfolk/P-town) and its a military area. Good place to either raise a family and even better place to retire. Not fast at all but not too slow. But the nightlife is kinda wack and the cost of living is too high for what they pay around here. Its a military area and those in the military can do well here...plus that housing allowance will help with cost of living. Its us non-military folks that have a lot more to shoulder when it comes to cost.

Best state to be in bruh...we got a chill vibe...not a lot to do as far as nightlife but you can still find good spots

And it really depends on where you are in the state
I donno about the best but its aight. Very chill vibe...u right about that and nightlife can be wack but it is what it is. An issue about VA is high taxes.

Emporia and Greenville county (off hwy 50)....u better drive that speed limit and don't swerve. They got my azz speeding there 5 years ago but some cheap (less than $100) lawyer sent me an ad and he got it dismissed as long as I did my community service and I did.

They did close paper mill at one point and reopened it as something similar. Not sure tho.

Yeah I'm hip to the 757. I was a military kid and lived in Norfolk as a kid and went back to ODU for college. Now I'm close to the nova area, I like hampton roads because it's more of AA people around there. Now I'm just around a bunch of rednecks :hhh: still a pretty nice place to live area wise tho, not too far from D.C.
