Respect face vs face matches rarely ever work
So the build up to mania was mediocrely at best
The mania match was pretty much all about getting to the end and the heel turn for Nakamura
It also felt the matches went to slow at times and then when they finally got into another gear the match would end just like that
Plus the matches where never going to live up the hype people created in there head about there matches

Matches were solid (sans certain finishes), but forgettable overall. Feud build-up was wack.

I feel this has been a constant thing with AJ and talent we hope they would put out classics with. KO, Joe, Naka, and DB. :patrice:

The Joe feud was the only notable one, and it came about during SS.

AJ’s reign was pretty lackluster, someone above mentioned the fact that most of the reign consisted of rematches, faced Nak 4x, Joe 4x, and I know his reign is over but he’s faced Bryan 3x in the last three months. In the past 365 days, the only other wrestlers he defended the title against were Zayn, Owens, and Rusev.

Another thing too is that he is suffering from the CM Punk syndrome where he had the title, he was over but his reign was meh because WWE never really treated it as a top title, they were too busy building up Becky and never really promoted his matches as big time, except for Nakamura at WM.

As for his matches, it is a problem he’s having, the matches are good but there’s just no juice to them. AJ vs Bryan at TLC was dope though.

I remember this from when I was still watching.

Here's where they fukked up:

Infinite rematches

Really bad finishes

Even worse setup for the matches. Have a no DQ match end in a double countout to set up a regular ass match to pick a stop after establishing that neither guy can really beat the other. Have the regular ass match with a random finish set up a last man standing match.

Not pulling the trigger on the title switch. Shinsuke NEEDED the title win. Between the losses to AJ and the losses to Jinder the year before, Shinsuke was ruined as a legit contender for the WWE title, since all the losses were basically clean.

Basically any time you run the same title match 3-4 times in a row and the challenger can't win, you ruin that challenger. There's no compelling or believable reason for the crowd to get behind them if they get another shot.

So they basically made Shinsuke Japanese Dolph Zilga.
