What exactly does being the Television Champion mean?

You're the champion of the TV? This and the European championship, I consider the most useless championships of all time.

It means you must defend the belt on television every week and your opponent must defeat you in a specified TV time.

European champion is pretty simple, champion of the continent of Europe.

:ohhh:

I knew what the European Championship stood for but that was pretty pointless. Who cares if you're the champion of Europe, if we arent in Europe.

I mean you have a point, but it's a good look if you are a European wrestler in the E and you could use the belt to look down on Americans in some way. For example, Antonio Cesaro could be Euro champ and shytting on people but he is US champ and looking stupid.

WCW did the TV title well. Especially when Benoit and Booker T were fighting for it. Its a great midcard belt to elevate someone if used right.

This... Definitely can elevate the champ if done right.... Plus it can make the show better if you give a good worker the belt... Having a guaranteed decent 10-15 minute match a show can do wonders for a nikka that's gonna watch anyway like me.... Think Kofi would be a great TV champ

This reminds of the the time when Finlay won the U.S. belt, and JBL who was doing commentary at the time said "Breaking news! The entire nation of Ireland is rejoicing at Finlays United States championship victory!"

Putting the European Title on somebody used to be a good way to push a European heel in North America, and a European babyface in Europe.

A TV Title would make a ton of sense in WWE right now, since they have so many hours of weekly TV to fill and the world belts seem to only get defended on PPVs. Why not have a midcard guy become a workhorse TV champ who gets over by beating challengers every week? Generally I think there are too many belts, but I always liked the concept of a TV championship. To me it makes more sense than either the IC or US titles.

Lord Steven Regal was a dope champ during his reign, on the low was one of the greatest.... And I hated dude back then, but over time came to respect the work he put in

D'Lo Brown got over with the European title. I like lower-tier titles because, in the right hands, it can bring a lot of character out of someone. I gave NO fukks about D'Lo Brown, but then he got that European title and the chest protector and I was like :dwillhuh: "Dude's kind of dope"...and then seeing X-Pac win and get a run made it even better.

Remember when Kurt Angle came on the scene and won the European title AND the Intercontinental title? I think I also remember back when Shawn gave HHH the European title and there was heat around there. Good stuff...

Get this: The last American United States Champion that we've had in a long time was the All-American American. :skip:

Wonder if the 'E's doing that on purpose.
