Black immigrants come here not wanting to get it. Sometime in 2018, we had a Minority Parents meeting at my son’s school. The boy attends a real saddity private school so there was an international gathering of minority parents at the meeting. My wife and I disclosed that as Black parents, we usually get all the Black parents together several times a year at our house to talk about issues unique to us as parents and our children. So of COURSE, the Nigerian parent, just in the states a few months, hears this and says they don’t raise their child to see color. The rest of us Black parents at the meeting all looked at each other with like, collectively annoyed at her naivety.
Fast forward to the following January.
My wife gets a call from the UNigerian asking to meet up for lunch. Before she accepts, my calls me wondering why she reached out. I said “think she had her nikka moment yet? Maybe it’s about that!! ”
Confirmed.
During their lunch, Nigerian discloses how she joined the general parents association at the school and was in complete disbelief at how the rich and snooty oyinbo parents at my son’s school are so discriminatory, saying they’re not like this during her time in U.K.and wants to know when we are going to have a next Black parent get together.
I don’t give a f***...I always say that Black immigrants are always a day late when it comes to matters of race, but whatever she experienced, I’m glad it woke her ass up.

Hey dummy, people are a product of their environment. How do you expect people from countries where they’ve probably never seen a white person in real life to have the same race consciousness as people from a country l where racism is baked into the fabric of the country.
It would be like expecting black Americans to understand the tribal conflicts that go on in Africa from people who in their eyes are indistinguishable.

I think also a lot of black Americans are ignorant in a sense that we don’t know certain immigrants are temporarily poor wealthy merchants and aristocrats. If they’re non black, they’re the ones who tried to sell their country out to the West but lost and ran here. That’s why the vitriol we get is so thick because these are actual hegemons pretending to be poor and come here with nothing. The white Cubans were the worst at pretending to be from the mud.
It disgusts them being around ex slaves. And it’s a culture shock to see us have even a petty bourgeoisie, when back in the old country they were cutting nikkas nuts off for hundreds of years.
Some of them come from families of doctors, because how would “supposedly”, an extremely poor uneducated group of people “like us”, all come here and all Choose to be the same things. And then to see black people doing “black and POC alliances” and not really knowing that that POC’s family was killing minorities in their homeland.
There are immigrants similar to us but we trying to align with the wrong ones. Asians like the Hmong to align with make more sense than the typical super racist East Asian. Our Dalit brothers over an Indian who’s last name is Patel. Not all aristocrats are bad, there are those who stood up to the dominant society and we should align with them.
