Been thinkin of doin this thread for a while and now here it is :yeshrug:
For me personally the gym & workin out has become one of the most important things in my life.
I started out in fall 2014 (was at the gym bout 5 times in the summer but it was of course absolutely useless, didnt even know how to do most of the exercises let alone know about a workout plan :russ:).
What really got me into the gym is two of my best homies. They started out in fall 2013 and had tons of knowledge about nutrition, exercises etc. so all the advice I got from them really helped me to get into the gym life properly. shyt was sorta like D.O.C coachin Snoop on bein a songwriter :russ:
shyt helped me to clean up my life, first of all with the help of one of those homies ecpecially I improved my nutrition step by step (I must admit I used to eat like shyt before I got into workin out, fast food & all that shyt was on the regular for me and therefore my belly was flabbynsick. Didnt help that I also smoked A LOT of cigarettes and drank like insane).
That helped me lose a couple lbs of fat and develop a lil bit of muscle/fitness for the start. I also quit smoking a couple months in and decreased my alcohol comsume drastically, since may 01 2015 I completely quit it I cant even smell that nasty shyt no more :scust: Some fine ass kush blunts every now & then are :blessed:, fukk alcohol.
On may 01 is also when I completely changed my nutrition to anabolic diet style and shyt is :blessed::blessed::ohlawd::ohlawd::noah:. The food, the energy, damn I strongly recomend it to anyone

Whats really important about the gym to me is the fact that it really balances out my life, I think I would be seriously frustrated without goin hard there, cant understand how some dudes be doin no sports, shyt would have me feelin flabby af really quick. Nothin better than hitting the gym in the evening when you had a frustrating day and give everything you got on those deadlifts :ahh:
Gym is also a great place for conversation sometimes, one of my two closest homies that I mentioned above is my workout partner so between the sets theres always place for some good conversation.
And of course having good workouts and a good nutrition makes you feel a lot more healthy, still remember those days wayback when I was deep in that flabbynsick life :scust:
And gettin into working out may have saved my life because it made me tone down drinking and completely quitting it in the end, I already mentioned it but shyt seriously fukked up my life for a long time and had me near death two times so I dont know if I couldve survived a third time :merchant:

Whats y'all stories ?

Love it. Best stress reliever, confidence builder.

I'm not genetically blessed so I've had to grind for the body I have today. The gym is where traits like discipline, consistency, and persistence are developed.

Plus, I love being in a room full of people who are all just trying to be better versions of themselves. Good vibes all around.

It's kind of like my religion, at this point. One of the things that's been consistent about me for well over half my life and identifies me as a person.

Effectively stands in as church for me.

I can meditate there, work toward achieving something that makes me a better person, I think through my problems there, learn more about myself, and I keep myself disciplined and away from temptation because of it.

I go out of my way to do it at a place of worship (the gym) or at home, which is like personal prayer.

So yeah... :jbhmm::wow:

I've been recommitted to this lifestyle since July 10 and it's the best thing I've ever done.

For an hour to 1.5 hours a day I get to:

Relieve stress
Listen to music
Forget about all problems and issues
Focus on bettering myself
Build confidence
Listen to music or podcasts
Sweat
Look at bad bytches or even average bytches trying to better themselves
Be around people who have a common goal as me and people who are active
Look at bad bytches :noah:
And just feel good even if I am not where I want to be yet. Constantly working towards my fitness goals is liberating. It gives me purpose. Keeps my mind sharp and focused.

I've lost 20 lbs since July 10 and it feels amazing :blessed:

My shirts a little looser. I can feel a half inch change in my pants.

And eating healthy and not overheating is GOAT. I feel so much better.
I haven't been this committed to the gym since 2011 brehs.
I'm back ... I feel happier about myself. :to:
