With streaming services popping up rapidly (fukkin BET is creating one :mjlol:), what does network and cable look like in the future?

Will Tv only feature sports? Reality shows?

And what about cinema? Will theaters slowly close? :jbhmm:

I think only think like 10-20% of the streaming platforms that come out will survive. Cable will be around cheaper but based on the new competition and movie theaters will be reserved for blockbuster high FX films or films aimed at kids. You might have an art house theater here and there in college towns and major cities.

i'm waiting for the smaller ones to get merged into a bigger platform...I hope one day we'll get Moviesanywhere type where we can link streaming services into one hub

theaters will be like restaurants. only super cheap or upscale joints will survive

all them amc joints will die off slowly. it will be 3$ cheap theaters that play movies 2 months after they come out and expensive 30 dollar a ticket spots that serve food and alcohol in recliner seats
High end theaters already serve food. I went to one a few years back.

My woman and I went to one of them regular movie theaters back in July

Had me like :dwillhuh:

I have truly been spoiled by upscale movie theaters with reclining and vibrating chairs

Cause the whole time I was in this place I was :scust:

I wanted to leave so bad. Worst part is that it was my idea. :snoop: in my defense, I didn't know it was gonna be THAT bad

shyt will crash...at some point they will realize people ain’t subscribing to all that shyt at $9-20/month for one show here and one show there.

That doesn’t even take into account the craziness that news sites have done with their paywalls, then of course most people subscribe to some music services...then all the monthly health and beauty subscription offering too...FOH with all this

I really don't get the point discount theaters in the streaming era. The movies they get are already on streaming/vod by the time they play them
