For anyone who still hasn't heard it yet, the part that's got the internet going nuts starts at about 36:50. It was pretty...unconventional for a battle verse. It's good to see it getting a positive reaction though.

Hell we see this on the coli a lot too some dudes want to pull the juvenile, flashy, 'hard' tone and some dudes counter with the grown up tone. Go for your strengths and see what works I guess.

It wasn't always that way, though. Plus "conscious" rappers battle all the time, too, and Lux was always known for avoiding the thug image in his verses. Battle rap might be full of it, but it's not intrinsic to it at all, so I don't see how this is cheating. It's left-field, maybe, but not unheard of or against any official or unofficial rules.

There's difinately a lot of no talent cats in music industry now, who equivalate knowing how to rhyme with being able to "rap".

Rapping is sort of like writing an essay. You have to thoroughly structure your response or message. Your choice of material should alliagn with your thesis. Modern music, goes off no consistency, but rather catchy bullsh*t and cheap metaphors....
