i want to see more improvements to enemy AI. So far I feel like RDR2, TLOU2, and MGSV are kind of in a league of their own in terms of NPC’s and enemies that feel “alive” and natura…. I would like more games to at least make them feel more human.

for open world games, I’d like to be able to change the actual city or world map through things im doing. In Ghost of Tsushima and Witcher 3 you could clear settlements of monsters and people would move back in and shops would open and stuff. I want more of that on a grander scale, i want enemies to be run out of certain regions and maybe form in others like gangs. I guess thats what the nemesis system was doing before WB threw it in the bushes

I would like to see less multiplayer/online functionality....I do not have a desire to play games with other people, nor do i want a shell of a campaign/story mode because it's primary money generation is through a multiplayer function.

Not being able to play a game because you don't have an internet connection...or it being extra limited without it :snoop:

Negativity (Kayfabe)
Not necessarily more "realism"

But just deeper systems.

I can't even play Fallout 4 or NV without hardcore.

You be having 300 pieces of food only to never used because it gives 3 HP.

Tomb Raider (the reboot) had a hunting mechanism.THAT YOU HAD TO USE ONCE.

Give me a reason to stay locked in.

Only horror games do that nowadays.

Random minigames. N64 games had a knack for this, probably the only redeeming quality of cheating ass Pokémon Stadium.

Truncation of animations. I loved RDR2 but it was unnecessary to have all those long drawn out animations. I dont mind walking over an item and it’s instantly in my inventory. It’s a game, I’m good with that

Couch co-op. These b*stards think they’re slick.

I’ll add more when I think of it.

  • Smarter Enemy AI
  • The arcadey feeling of early 2000s Namco, Capcom, and Sega games. Basically more focus on gameplay mechanics and player expression.
  • More destructible environments
  • More interactable environments, objects, and game worlds.
  • Game maps that changes overtime due to the player’s actions and in-game time.
  • More weird directors like Kojima and Suda 51 cooking up unique stories.
  • A shyt load of content in the base game and more focus on replay value.
  • More player choice and freedom

Environmental destruction.
I'm fine with graphics the way they are today.
I'd like the additional resources in new hardware to be spent making the worlds more realistic in terms of destruction.
Battlefield does a great job of this and more games can take note and raise the bar.
I can't stand watching a bunker buster hit a building in Call Of Duty and not a single scratch is left on the building.
Surfaces in all video games at this point should behave as they would in real life.

I also want them to bring back a focus on fully fleshed out co-op story experiences, not just side missions that are co-op specific or the lazy co-op where you're both playing as the same character or the second player is a voiceless avatar with no bearing on the story.
Gears of War 1 - 3 is a great example of how to did it right. I haven't played that new game but "It Takes Two" is great although I find the game to be way too long with a bunch of bloated sections.
