We all know execution is more important than skill or talent, most college grads can handle it, its just that employers are trying to pay people $11.88/hour for a job that used to pay $34K/year. It would be foolish if anyone plays the game straight up, because in this economy the "haves" are not playing fair.
Another trick, at the interview talk like a manager instead of a worker. If they say what is your biggest weakness, say you micromanage and hate when things don't get done on time. Strengths would be some nonsense about how you like to mentor, are patient with people and stay dedicated to whatever you are doing. At that point the boss will look at you as someone who will make his life easier.
