after all these years, people still haven't learned their lesson that the top 3 drafted players almost never turn out to be the best players in the draft class down the line.

I promise you that a few of the lower drafted players 6-28 would go on to be better nba nba players than him and morant

If I had to compare it to an era.

Like in the Shaq era.

RJ will be the Allen Iverson aka 2nd best player to Zions Shaq:wow:

Everyone else role players:mjlit:

On Zion & Shaq, I do find find it amusing to contrast RJ & Zion to Shaq & Kobe as far as public perception & likeability goes. Zion is clearly the more charismatic guy & likeable personality. He's more humble than Shaq was but like Shaq, fans & media love dude and his sunny disposition. Its hard not to.

RJ on the other hand is clearly more aloof & divisive. Hes already gotten testy with the media post draft. Pre draft, Steven A mentioned his propensity for going left, and RJ tried to son him on live television. Complete opposite from how Zion has handled the media. Like Kobe, RJ isn't as charismatic as Zion and seems to be more driven by individual greatness. Public perception as a consequence doesn't look upon him as favorably even though he's clearly loaded with upside and had one of the greatest freshmen seasons of all time at 18 years old.

Zion had a great year, but the difference in their personalities & the media influence definitely led to some of the disses he's receiving. RJ is clearly in line to be the NBAs next villain if he actually develops into a top player. While you can say his play and his play alone has spurned the flippant response from fans and media, that's not it, entirely. Next to Zion, he's clearly the less likeable personality & regardless of whether or not folks want to admit it, that matters and influences public reception on a visceral level.

Love
I'm only going by what I've seen in highlights but...
Allen Houston
Kinda but not quite
Honestly, Jerry Stackhouse
Nope.

Jamal Mashburn
Hell no

I could see some of the Alan Houston with a mixture of Robert Horry and Eddie Jones. And by that I mean the young Horry that had some handle. As a matter of fact that's it: Eddie Jones/Robert Horry.

As a Knick hater I'm afraid the little fukker will be a great player. shyt is really keeping me up at night. I can't live in a world where the freaking Knicks are relevant again. Having Knicks fans have to STFU because they aren't in contention makes life so great everyone else

Well said:ehh:

But I was comparing them to 2 of the 3 top and best players of 2 eras ago

Shaq & AI:mjgrin:

The 3rd would be Duncan but I didn’t see a Duncan in the draft unless folks really trynna claim that Japanese guy:usure:
