i mostly listen to Northern African... quite a few Algerian ... Moroccan and Egyptian artists that i love. Shereen Ahmed...Amr Diab..Khaled..Faudel..Cheb Mami to name a few... i can really find my groove to that music
don't really know as much about central and west African music tho...

as an African, living in Southern Africa I would say it's flames

Some of the younger artists in modern Afrobeat..usually from one of Nigeria/Ghana. They will rap/sing in very strong pidgen english accent with some traditional languages in between (e.g Yoruba or Twi) but you can just about make out what they're saying. The rhythms on some of the tracks are crazy!
