Use the "xeffect" it creates habbits.

, make a grid with you're goal at the top and cross out one cell when complete, put this where you can see or use an app. This creates habits and releases dopamine when you cross off, there is a whole community on Reddit.
Make your cards, cross your X's, increase your willpower.

This is similar to old people who have lost memory, they use these to remember to take pills

discipline is a set of systems that you put in place that guide you

motivation is just fuel for the moment

there’s a video called “The 20 mile march” on YouTube that basically outlines the difference. If you were to hike across the country, it’s better to just do a set amount of miles per day every day (regardless of conditions) than it is to over exert when you’re motivated and then rest when you’re not, or over exert when conditions are fair and rest when they aren’t

Off topic but breh at 2:05 of the video in OP puts up a terrible shot :dead:

achieving consistent performance :obama:

interesting especially about not too little not too much, but i guess it depends on your aim. there's the gung-ho philosophies it depends on character a little bit but for sure regardless of conditions discipline is constant.

It doesn’t have to be “not too little not too much” it’s finding out a comfortable push to your goal. You can definitely go hard but it’s finding what your consistent pace/level is

deeper, it’s about setting parameters and sticking to them. It’s such a good way to manage burnout and still achieve goals.

To me, losing motivation is emotion based. For example, I don’t always feel like working out. Most days the motivation to get there and jog 3-4 miles doesn’t exist:patrice: But I think about how far I’ve come and the consequences of not staying disciplined. I do a quick cost benefit analysis in my head i suppose. I’d rather suck it up and do what I don’t “feel” like doing or even wanna do in order to continue to chip away at my overall goal (increased cardiovascular health, weight loss and maintenance , etc). It’s a mental thing. I’m also finishing my bachelors full time and working full time, and lawd knows I would rather spend my time doing other shyt 100% of the time:mjcry:. But I know If I don’t just get the shyt done and execute, I won’t be the only one negatively impacted... my son would be as well.

Classic example of making it about something bigger than yourself :obama:

also as motivation i dont think most utilize the coli enough, like @KingDanz said reddit use a "peer pressure system" while adopting the X mark strategy.

dope.

so you make it a necessity for immediate benefit, like the smallest hole can sink a ship. so you have to keep your mentality solid consistently no days off?

real talk, because there was this famous dude an explorer of some kind who got stuck on an island (this was in 33 strategies of war) and had no choice but to make use of the material around him to get out that island. that island is our mentality we got to put effort in so that's the discipline and our end goals/plans thats the motivation, thats nice thinking.

Exactly. It is an absolute mindset thing. I do give myself day off to rest where i do nothing. But on the other days, I’m as focused as I can be. Some days are better than others, but i keep focusing on the goal.. not on how I feel in the process. I just trust the process and push through day by day. Can’t eat an elephant in one bite.

I hate practice and want to begin at the end.

But I like the results at the end when things are completed so I had to get over myself in that regard.

I definitely have the capacity to buckle down. It feels very tiring but accomplishing when I look at the material and can read the language or field of study with understanding.

Being tired of potential and having things clutter my head also keeps me moving.
