Soprano Home Movies is up there as far as favorite episodes go. Tony weaponizing Bobby’s innocence was foul and putting a hit on a civilian was just the beginning of the Jenga pieces falling that season. Honestly, I guess Bobby was lucky to even be alive at that point after putting hands on the boss, but it was devastating to see the effect Tony has on even his own family. Felt like this season opener was a sneak preview of the vile, devil incarnate Tony Soprano we see later on in the season. Bobby couldn’t even look at his children the same way after that hit.
Upon rewatch I grew more appreciation for the coma sequences in Season 6A. Part A was still a bit of a slug, especially with the Vito subplot, but I thought it turned a corner after ‘The Ride’. Part B is just a cinematic, creative goldmine. Depressing, but man the whole show operates on another level there.
