Only thing that matters to me: Black people conducting business smarter re: development. I don't care if its capitalism, socialism, whatever. Just stop being idiots. Everything else will fall into place. The reverence for the commodity (humans, oil, minerals, guns, salt) has lead us to stay true to an outdated economic system and keeps putting us at the mercy of outsiders. This chain has to be broken. We should not be using economic systems fit for 1300 AD in 2016.

I have a lot of faith in Kenya's nurturing of tech hubs, but Kenyatta is an idiot.

Really? Why? I thought he was a change from the old guard and just pissed of the West and the ICC "court"

Kenyatta and Ruto really did egg on their supporters to kill each other in the Rift Valley. A number of key witnesses who could've testified against them have disappeared or have been killed.

Kenyatta doesn't represent change. He's just another form of Kenya's ethnic politics and horrible corruption. The bright spot in all of this is the tech sector (and their geothermal potential I guess).

What Kenyatta should really be doing is trying to become the sea hub of East Africa but Tanzania and Uganda are foiling any possible plans of his. I don't think there's been much traction in increasing manufacturing in Kenya either.

Back on topic, how does everyone think community organizing works best? We have a lot of organizations and I am starting to think beginning a new one isn't necessarily the solution. But things don't happen by themselves so we would need some kind of operating vehicle.

It works best as both a political and 'community' movement. If you want to provide for kids in an after school program, make sure you also have the ability to run your own candidates for city council.
