J Cole has always been boring to me. Outside of Friday Night Lights there hasn’t been a project I listened to. I respect him as a stand up guy and there are glimpses of what other people see that I recognize, but just not my vibe. He finally drops a project, Might Delete Later, that’s my kinda shxt then folds immediately. He spent so much time prior gassing himself as the one only to back down when the first sign of smoke came. As an old school hip hop fan, I can’t respect that. Miss me with all the brotherhood bs. Now I’m left playing Pi regularly and skipping when his verse starts cause I can’t edit the actual Spotify stream.

Maybe Cole prefers to spar on the same track? How bout this? Name a rap battle on wax where it was 2 friends. Name one. I'll wait for it. shyt was clearly a unique situation.

The culture is toxic, look at the content we've celebrated for almost 50 years. I still like it and know how to reconcile with it as an adult, seems like many people don't. We also crave bloodshed and chaos, the whole July 33rd meme, the amount of rappers that get locked up, shot or overdose and we just shrug and listen to the next guy

Cole seemed to be the only mainstream MC or even one of the few MCs left period that gave a fukk about "the rapper code", only to turn around and completely shyt on that code. He built his entire persona on being a rapper's rapper just to pull the weakest move of the 21st century when it comes to being a real nikka. He deserves every bit of hate that comes his way because he's truly the only nikka to bring it all on himself.

Cole has been getting called boring since he came out, nap king cole and all that, the tuna fish sandwich of rap.

While I have never been much of a fan, I respect his craft and has always rooted for him to thrive so other rappers of his ilk can too.

Definitely even less of a fan after watching him do all that wolfing only to bend the knee. The only thing that made him halfway appealing to me ended up being a farce.

Clearly they aren’t the friends he thinks they are if it reached that point. There are plenty of “friends” in rap history that battled. The situation is not unique. You’re just caping for Fold.
