yet i see a ton of nfl players with commercials on a daily basis.

shyt rg3 is all over tv and he has yet to play a regular season game.

cam had the same treatment when he came to the nfl even after the 'scam newton' stuff.

im just saying, if cam continues to play at a high level, win games, and stay out of trouble a couple of tats won't all of a sudden ruin his endorsement deals. he'll be the face of under armour with or without tats and that will carry over.

Yup. And it helps that he's a QB. Tattoos aren't gonna stop him from getting deals. Vick has tattoos and before the dog thing he was everywhere.

Durant has all of his tats on his chest/back, but none on his arms. I'm guessing he did it for the same reasons.

That's what he said it's for, but guys like Rose and Bron are tatted all over and have no problem getting endorsements/pub, even for non-sports related stuff.

I see endorsements being talked which have no reason to even be in this thread because Dez isn't being protected from bs.

He's being protected because he's a dumb kid who won't grow up. Also, if Dez didn't want those bodyguards, etc...

He can easily say no so he had to agree to this which would either get him cut or pull Jerry Jones hair out because he's not contractually obligated.

Pacman Jones was the original & Cam Newton has nothing to do w/ this.

I think you guys find your favorite athlete or artist & try & compare too much.

I'm happy for Dez even noticing he needs help & saying yes to have bodyguards, security, etc. since he's not getting treatment.

i am generally against this type of stuff....but i don't think it was mandatory, someone can clarify that for me. I seriously doubt the cowboys would have dropped him if he didn't agree to the dez rules.

on the flip side, I think owners should have chauffeur services available to all players at all times, even in the off season. I know some bring it on themselves, but you're a fool if you think these guys aren't targets. as far as curfews go, and forced sobriety...sheeeeeeeeeiiiittttt.

I'm basically saying.. It's not in his contract so he didn't have to go along w/ this shyt. Secondly, i'm not saying the Cowboys would've cut him if he refused but they would've either had to do that or stick w/ it because those terms weren't in his contract

i hope this doesn't start a trend where teams dictate lifestyle choices.

i understand the dez rules and agree with them but keep that kinda stuff for extreme purposes.

athletes should have the freedom to do what they want with thier money.

what athletes does not have the freedom to do what they want with their money

There really needs to be a push for these athletes to actually learn something while in school because all this bullshyt could be avoided if high school and college actually taught some of these dudes something. To many of them seem almost retarded where not even common sense was taught to them. Needing/having three around the clock bodyguards does not make you seem more important Dez but rather stupid in that you need protection from yourself.:snoop:

Basketball is nothing like football you guys realize that right ? we can see the players and it's more of a individual sport
See here go the lies you don't see tons and that's where your wrong look at the guys outside of rg3 who have endorsements. If you want the big endorsements its better to play it safe

Heard these rules were set up by Dez's people and not the Cowboys. Dez has no problems with drinking or strip clubs, but putting that in looks good to the DA and Goodell. It's like telling someone don't slash your own tires and I'll give you $300.

this is a new era in nfl.

individual players are put in a spotlight more than ever.

when the broncos were winning last year it was all tebow. nobody got credit but tebow.

even this past week the colts vs the redskins wasnt built up as the colts vs the redskins, but rg3 vs luck. with the gaining popularity of the nfl, individual football players areas marketable asever.
