Besides your own which places have the best soul food (fried chicken, fish, mac n cheese, yams, greens etc NOT BBQ) in the South. I restrict it to the south, because just about all Northern, Western and Midwestern cities black populations came from the south.I'll give an honorable mention to Chicago, because they pulled off the Fish and Spaghetti combo. Everything in this map including Missouri, Maryland, Delaware, DC, West VA.
I'm from Louisville, Kentucky - voted top 5 food cities in the WORLD with over 80 black owned restaurants everywhere.

Francos - Favorite spot in the city for me (honorable mentions King's Chicken, Big Mamma's)
This place used to be under the name "Jay's Cafeteria" in the old black business district. MLK used to eat here all the time. It's still under the same family control.
My vote however is for New Orleans
Their gumbo, red beans and rice are the best side dishes on Earth. Plus the chicken their ain't too bad.
Not trying to shyt on Atlanta or anything, but for a city that is reputed as the black Mecca their ain't too much good soul food down there. The greens there alot of the times taste like vinegar water. The chicken was nothing to remember at all. Gladys Knight's restaurant off Turner Hill is the most over prices blandest soul food that I've ever had. The closest thing that you get to soul food in 70% of Atlanta is Popeyes and Bojangles. The BBQ there is descent though.
