Philly born. PG raised
I would say the DMV buts its not really a state. but if metropolitan areas count then it has to be in the discussion especially recently.

KD
Ty Lawson
Beasley
Sam Young
Nolan Smith
Melo (if Bmore count lol)
Kendall Marshall
Rudy Gay

and there's more I'm sure

But again this is the DMV not just DC.

Yeah, I think Chicago got it. Midwest as a whole is a beast. Then nikkas can ball. People sleep on Seattle/Portland though. LA and the Bay got a lot too. Whats up with New York? Thought they had ballers there :lolbron:

Chicago has always had hoopers...even the suburban kids been hoopin'.

NY City still got hoopers...not as many as back in the day, but they still got some. My assumption is that they moving out the city and to other places.

Can't forget New Jersey either though.

Kobe isn't from Philly, you might as well start saying Elton Brand, Andre Drummond and Ben Gordon are from NYC if he's grouped in with Philly.

Kobe went to Lower Merion HS which is just outside. Supposedly he use to go one on one with Eddie Jones when he was at Temple.
So I'd throw him in there. If you expand it to greater philadelphia...then you come up with more names like John Salmons.

Also throw in Aaron Mckey...he's from philly as well (Gratz HS) just as Rahsheed went there.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Chicago is clearly the best outside of Christiansted, St. Croix, forget Jabari Parker, they have Jahlil Okafor in the pipeline and he looks like yet another number 1 pick.

NYC has a great all-time roster, but hasn't sent any real impact players to the NBA in a minute. The HS level is all fukked up in the City and kids don't develop the way they should, guys who should be playing the 2 and 3 turn into these rugged undersized PF's that are good on the college level but not NBA ready at all.

Ben Gordon lived closer to NYC than Kobe did to Philly (5 min walk to the Bronx), and nobody is lumping him in as an NYC. Played against NYC guys all the time, and worked out with Mark Jackson and Anthony Mason :manny:

Either you're from there or you're not, Kobe is from outside the city of Philly.

A friend of mine use to play with Ben Gordon at far rock houses...I'd count him as NYC.

Kobe is counted a Philly guy in the basketball world regardless, he was born there and raised in the area.
