There is class-ism in Atlanta among Black folks, wont even front. And its not even color based like some other southern cities, its all about where you went to school, who you know, and how much money you got among that circle here. But even with that, the single thing that separated us from other cities was one simple but fukking HUGE factor-The airport. We had Black leaders with vision back in the day that even tho they were from the elite circle, they knew that their fellow brothers who wasn't as fortunate was going to have to have a way to make decent LEGAL money. And they structured the airport in such a way thru corporate partnerships and city ordinances along with leveraging the cities location and history of transportation into something that would feed brehs pretty much for the foreseeable future. I dont think brehs not from the A realize how big the airport is, its one of the busiest and largest in the world and that whole area is full of entry level jobs you dont need a degree for. On the side I came up on, brehs going to college was def in the minority. If you wasn't running the streets, you went to HJIA and got a job either at the airport itself or one of the warehouses/businesses around it. It's like our port breh, shyt it basically is an inland port really. I can't walk thru the airport without seeing somebody I grew up with working in there, catching a flight for me is always like a baby HS reunion. And the city itself is gentrifying, rent going up like crazy, but areas like Decatur and Clayco aint going no where and if you a breh with no degree who gets on at Delta slinging bags, you can be a 40K nikka with a townhouse in Riverdale with a Charger in the driveway if you grind right for a few years. Thats not a bad life for a dude who came up with them circumstances if you ask me. Hellava lot better outlook for that same type of breh than in other cities.
Hartsfield is the #1 employer in Atlanta, right?
Brehs have been eating off that for a minute.
