Lots of guys could have played Tony Stark....and you'll see that once RDJ is dropped from the series. When it comes to actors playing established characters there will always be someone else who can play it just as well or better.

I stand corrected after seeing someone mentioning Robert England playing Freddy Kruger. That dude put so much thought and effort into that character I can't imagine anybody else EVER playing him.

If anybody is into that film series I highly recommend watching "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy". It's a four hour documentary about the making of the Nightmare on Elm street films.

dont really think so...there could be certain roles that alot of actor/actresses could be interchange but there are some that was played that wouldnt look good with another person in that role.

Those role are in the minority and it's usually a character that an actors has fleshed out significantly while preparing for the role.

When it's a character that has been around for decades though then a lot of great actors can fill that role.

Iron Man is a character that has been around for decades, the only thing RDJ really brought to the character was screen presence. If Marvel keeps churning out Iron Man movies they will find someone who can play that character just as well if not better.

I didn't like how he was portrayed in the cartoon either. They just turned him into a bland genius type character and that's not what he ever was in the comics.

In the comics Beast was a cultured Genius but he was he also very much a regular guy. The character was a football star in highschool and stayed hitting up clubs and chasing bytches during his time with the Avengers.

To be clear I think RDJ is dope as Tony Stark but when his casting was announced everybody was shocked because he was NEVER being mentioned. Tom Cruise was actually the longest rumored guy in line for that role.


And yeah, I corrected myself in an earlier post when I saw someone had mentioned Freddy Kruger. If you're the first guy to play a character in multiple films (that aren't adaptations) odds are you're gonna be viewed as "the best".

im gonna have to go with Hanks in Forrest Gump i mean yeah alot of people could probly play a slow person but it was just something bout Hanks in that joint that i wouldnt even wanna see noone else. Like that joint with sean penn and the lil girl that was his daughter thought dude played that good(best joint i seen him in) but dont think he couldve done forrest.
