I live and work here now after graduating. What do you want to know?
I'm thinking of applying to jobs there this summer. I work in digital marketing / PPC / SEO and currently live in jacksonville FL

It's kind of a small city but getting bigger every year.
HORRIBLE traffic. I say it rivals LA traffic, but that's cause everyone uses I35
Hipster city, I guess you could call it a "young" town or city
It's a beautiful, clean city. Lot's of parks. Lot's of people who are into taking care of themselves.
6th St. of course is where all the bar's and nightlife is. But there are bar's all over downtown, not just 6th.
It's HOT during the summer. Hot...
Inbetween Austin and SA is where you go tubing in the summer time. Guadalupe river, Blanco river, etc. Lot's of pawgs/mexican/black woman so don't get yourself in trouble with your eye wandering.
Not to much crime. All the crime is pretty much here in SA.

I live in san antonio and go to austin quite a bit, Texas doesnt have state income tax, however for texas standards austin housing prices are higher. The traffic sucks for a city its size and the people are weird, but the music scene is top notch along with the night life and the economy is doing well

what kind of work do you do bro? i know people in austin and lemme say this. university of texas is HUGE. so there's a lot of competition for jobs. most jobs you can make at least 10 k more in houston or atlanta. one of my friends is a teacher and he said its one of the lowest paying urban districts in texas. HEAVY COMPETITION. if you thinking south- id go houston, atlanta and even charlotte
How is the quality of life there? Any Jamaicans live there? Does it compare to a big city like NYC? How are the houses/apts?
I moved here in september of 2014. It's been 10 years and I met @ViShawn and a few other brehs here. Not too many black folk, but we are around, especially up in round rock / pflugerville etc
South austin is just demographically non-black (mostly)
Yeah more of an Asian population growing mainly Indian now
