Never confronted her about it, but I had a black power teacher who was older who I think snuck a certain book underneath my chair when I was in high school. I gotta get back in touch with her. She a G.

The book was " Blacks In Science ancient and modern" Edited by Ivan Van Sertima.

Totally blew my 17-year-old mind.

Years later, I found a little old book in my local library called..."The Destruction of Black Civilization" by Chancellor Williams.

When I win I bring we with me
:jbhmm:
I got / read so many books it's hard to narrow it down to one....but I can point to two pivotal points in life where new info sent me down a new path.

1. when I was young I ran across this book sitting around the house one summer and spent the entire break teaching myself to program on our home computer. When I later started programming for real with computer game mods and my software engineering major I was already comfortable and ahead of the game.

2. Reading the history of both Ethiopia(specifically the kings list/bios) and the Ghana/Mali/Songhai complex via Wikipedia lead me down the African History & Culture path(continent & diaspora). I now have a huge collection of books, articles, videos, etc about damn near everything related to African peoples. Even wrote some stuff my self.
