Essential What Are You Listening To?

it's like I was "hearing" hip hop but not "listening" (all music genres, really).... that was up until maybe 1997
then I was all about lyrics and beats. Bars on bars on bars and beats.
I was thinking about it last night.... I think about 3 years ago I stopped caring about "bars on Bars". I still appreciate pure musical integrity and creativity in other genres...
but hip hop? as long as I'm entertained and might laugh a little I don't care.
Lotta my current faves, 90s me would slapped me for listening to. They wack by 90's False standards. Current me here for it.
