Since I buy mostly physical games still, this is what I've done for years, I'll buy myself a gift card every single time I get gas. Fill up the tank, drop 30 on the card. Rinse and repeat. So basically, save for consoles, I'm stacking up the cards.
Like I said, I've done this every year for a while because since my purchased amount is typically high in a year, it made sense to spend the amount through the year instead of the $600+ spikes in November and December. It's my way of planning better.
