I'm talking those that blew you away, ones that you'll never forget. Mines in order.

1. Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs - Will always be my favourite movie and performance

2. Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood - Just saw this now, this man is something else. Literally man, no wonder why he does movies very rarely.

3. Denzel Washington in Training Day - Favourite actor in his best role

It's pretty hard but narrow your choices

Ft. Stewart, Ga
Denzel Washington- John Q (If you wanna see an example of an actor single handedly CARRYING a movie to respectability then look no further than this. Denzel took what was essentially a Lifetime channel movie of the week and put it on his shoulders.)

Tom Cruise- Collateral (This movie was essentially his training day)

Angela Bassett- What's Love Got To Do With It (the fact that she didn't win the Oscar for her performance is one of the greatest awards snub of all time)

Matt Damon- Good Will Hunting (excellent acting all altogether)

Brad Pitt- Troy (Again, a great example of an actor carrying a movie, Pitt's swag level was on 100000 for this movie. The scene where he's calling Hector's name over and over in a rage and the audience just KNOWS by the look on Achilles face that Hector stands no chance is just:whew:)

Don Cheadle- Hotel Rwanda (Cheadle the Gawd showing how you embody a role)

I don't know how people mention Denzel's best and not mention Glory or Malcolm X. He was very good in Training Day, but he was all-time great in Malcolm X.

My 3 favorite would be

1. Robert De Niro in Raging Bull
2. Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood
3. Frances McDormand in Fargo

My favorite acting jobs are a little different, I think. These people simply captivated me and immersed me in their respective movies more than anyone has, I feel.

1. Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York

2. Hugh Jackman in The Prestige

3. Sean Penn in Mystic River

4. Colin Farrell in In Bruges

5. Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs
