Well yeah at the time the movie wasn't received well and bombed at the box office. Most people said it was a Eddie Murphy vanity project and that he should stick to staying in front of the camera not directing

It's also just opinion breh I wouldn't get too bent outta shape about it if i were you for real. Not all critics fukk with everything I love or vice versa:whoknows: that's life. I LOVE Ace Ventura pet detective but that's in no way a critical gem. I LOVE Who's the Man..it's got a 43% tomato score, oh well, they don't like it, doesn't mean I can't or won't.

I know but I have noticed white people often times don't understand black films no matter if they are good or bad.

What else we got aside from harlem nights? Because I'd argue that not all of our flicks are quality anyway and we constantly on this board dump on them, sometimes on a regular basis. ATL is as black as a movie can get and it's got a 62, Dope has a freaking 89%, boyz in the hood has a 96% menace 2 society has an 85% and of course do the right thing is heralded as one of the greatest american films of all time. Obviously there's more but that's just off the top of my head

Edit: and I'm not throwing shots at you at all, so it's no diss coming from me, it's just something I've noticed and I think an actual discussion should be had
